 Itzá is the Mayan word for the sorcerer of water. These legendary people gave rise to the mythical city of Chichén Itzá: Chichén (entrance to the pond / cenote) - Itzá (water sorcerer). In this land of cenotes and underground rivers, the Itzá people found the entrance doors to Xibalba; and in communion with Chaac -the god of water-, they established the sacred link between the earth, the cosmos and the underworld.

 Water represents the infinite fluid nature of the universe; turning the water to the sorcerer in the master of time.
