Care Instructions
How to Care for 100% Cotton Knitwear
1. Washing
-
Hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent (preferably biodegradable and fragrance-free).
-
If using a machine:
-
Place sweater in a mesh bag
-
Use the delicate cycle
-
Cold water only
-
-
Avoid bleach or fabric softeners — they degrade natural fibers.
Tip: Wash only when truly needed. Spot clean first to preserve the garment.
2. Drying
-
Do not tumble dry — heat will shrink and distort the knit.
-
After washing, gently press out water (don’t wring).
-
Lay flat on a clean towel, reshape, and air dry away from direct sun or heat sources.
Tip: Flip the garment halfway through drying to maintain shape and texture.
3. Storing
-
Store folded, not hung — hanging can cause stretching over time.
-
Keep in a breathable cotton bag or on a shelf in a cool, dry place.
-
Add lavender or cedar sachets to deter moths, especially during warmer months.
4. Ironing / Steaming
-
If needed, use a low-heat iron or steamer, ideally with a pressing cloth to protect the fabric.
-
Gently reshape with your hands while slightly damp if wrinkles persist
